Use Your Gluteus (to) Maximus Your Hip Singles!

3 Important Reasons Why I Use My Glutes When Belly Dancing

1.    The Strongest Muscle

The gluteus maximus is the largest of a group of three gluteal muscles, including the gluteus medius and the gluteus minimus. These three gluteal muscles stabilize the trunk and the legs, and help mobilize the trunk and legs, therefore acting together to enable the functional movement of the body.

2.    Prevents lower back and hip pain
Engaging the glutes helps to prevent any lower back and hip pain while executing belly dance hip work, such as hip singles, hip drops, hip twists.

3.    Prevents knee injuries.
When using your glutes you are less likely to hyper-extend the knees while doing hip work.
