Neon Brights, Bandos & Bodysuits: The Chic-A-Boom-Room Presents Electronic Cabaret!

It's Friday at 4:57 pm. You're packing up your laptop from a good, long, hard working week. The loud happy screams of "TGIF" "TGIF" "WAHOOO TGIF!!" have been on auto-play in your mind since mid-afternoon now consuming your thoughts as you're high tailing it out the door. You receive a "ding!" from your phone. It's a Facebook invite from your friend of friend, Tanya something or other to a HOT Burlesque-style dance number put on by The-Chic-A-Boom Room. Your first though is "What's a Chic-A-Boom Room?"  Second "These women are super sexy!" Third "I need to spice up my life! What can I possibly do on a Friday night that is more entertaining, sensual, and mind blowing than an Electronic Cabaret Burlesque-style show?!" Yes you're correct! Off we go to the show!

Okay so I had the delight of being a part of the fun that was "Electronic Cabaret" - a sensual way to bring to light the creation, evolution, and lifestyle that is our current "electronic era." Of course the show is brought to by The Chic-A-Boom Room - the amazing partnership of our Queen Diva Laura Furtado of DivaGirl Inc. and Carla Catherwood of Nuvo-Burlesque Dance.

Army of Sass in army stance!

Let's start to paint the picture of what the evening looked like for you fine readers. 45 incredibly talented, confident, and gorgeous dancers took over the Virgin Mobile Mod Club stage. The ladies were decked out in neon brights, light-up bandos, bodysuits with fishnets, sexy knee high leather boots and hot, bright coloured spandex. Pirouettes, perfect lines and an orderly march emulated an army reserve.Wait, this is just the rehearsal -  We're only getting warmed up!

Backstage the dancers were running around getting sassed up for the now hundreds of people lined up outside waiting for their electrifying experience! Outfits were being primped, re-adjusted and thrown back on. Thick clouds of hairspray floating above the dancers who were styling, straightening, and curling their hair while some were applying makeup in compact mirrors. All full-view mirrors were occupied with those practicing their moves and the rest were quickly snacking in the short time left. Show's about to begin!

Kate Knox, ginger-haired to perfection, opened up the show. Sitting at the red curtain tail innocently in a school girl uniform behind and old fashion wood desk entertaining the crowd with her exaggerated expressions and quirky, sassy moves. The innocence however quickly faded as she was pulled into the sexy, sultry show that was about to unfold by a dozen strong hands that won over Knox's fight.

Here's where it starts to heat up! Dozens of dancers in see through middle bodysuits and knee highs worked the stage throughout the night with pirouette spins, knee drops, cute pin-up poses sealed with a wink to everyone watching.

The multi-talented Meghan Smith was the vocals for the evening singing "Eyes" by Kaskade - the perfect tie in to the show with Meghan adding in a soft and enchanting touch with her mesmerizing voice. Did I mention she can also hold a mean pitch sky high in a hoop? Above being the lead vocals and saucy burlesque dancer she can also work a hoop like a Cirque Du Soleil dancer!

A show isn't complete with lap dances right? Madame decided to show the crowd what's up in bed fifty years from today and how better to show than with a male model? She brought up to the stage a lucky man, placed him in a wooden chair, threw on light up Kanye style shades, whip in his mouth and simply said "imagine something and it comes to life." Then who appears but the beautiful Pastel Supernova grinding, dipping, and rolling as a whirlwind of gorgeous locks spun around him. More and more dancers starting to appear on stage following Pastel's lead creating the ultimate erotic experience. What do you think he was possibly imagining?!

The night closed off  with a wild party complete with silly string of all colours with the girls lighting up the crowd coming off stage to dance with their audience,  shaking and grooving!

DANCE PAAAARTY!
After reading how amazingly entertaining this night was you definitely wouldn't want to miss the next one right? You're in luck! We have a "High Society" The Chic-A-Boom Room performance on July 9th. This is limited seating so be sure to get your tickets before they're gone!

Until next time Divas!
